"Recipe for Well Done HR"

 

  Kansas City will welcome up to 200 human resource professionals from a twelve-state region: Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota, Indiana, and Ohio. They represent public human resources departments across the Midwest, and will be coming to the Marriott Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri to participate in IPMA-HR's Central Region Conference.

IPMA-HR is the leading organization representing federal, state, county, municipal, special district, and personnel departments across the United States and many foreign countries. Numerous cities, counties, public districts and federal branches are represented in the Kansas City area alone.  Similar jurisdictions are represented from all the major cities in the Midwest. The Central Region is one of four major regions of IPMA-HR and represents over 1,000 public organizations in the Midwest geographic area. IPMA-HR provides many services to members and disseminates information on innovative personnel policies, benefits, labor relations, workplace trends, state and federal legislation, cutting edge HR practices, and research data.

IPMA-HR is a non-profit membership organization for agencies and individuals in the public sector human resources field and those interested in the Association's objectives. The following are the purposes and objectives of IPMA-HR:

  • Promote excellence through the ongoing development of professional and ethical standards and career development;
  • Enhance the image of human resource professionals by recognizing their contributions to the public service;
  • Foster fairness and equity by promoting application of merit principles and equal opportunity for all;
  • Encourage research and development in human resource management; and
  • Promote communication and sharing of information among human resources professionals.
