Keynote Speakers:

**DAVID NASTER, international authority on the benefits of humor and laughter. Author of You Just Have to Laugh and When Work Gets TOUGH-you just have to laugh. David is a comedian with high quality content that truly makes a difference in people’s lives. After experiencing his keynote, your life will improve. He guarantees it. A national authority on the enormous benefits of laughter, David will share with your audience what he knows best: No matter what life throws your way, “You Just Have To Laugh!” His presentation proves that FEAR is the core of any tough time and FEAR can be managed, even erased, with humor. Naster is an expert at using humor to produce a positive perspective.

**R. CROSBY KEMPER, III, was appointed Chief Executive of the Kansas City Public Library in September, 2005.  Kemper has done independent scholarship work in New Haven, Connecticut; served as executive director of the British Institute of the United States in New York; and served as English instructor at the University of Sichuan in Chengdu, China.   Kemper is chairman and founding member of the Show-Me Institute. He was appointed by then Missouri Governor, Bob Holden, to chair the Blue Ribbon Task Force, Citizens Commission on the Future of Higher Education in Missouri.  Currently, Kemper is on the Board of Trustees for the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, the private, nonprofit corporation that has owned and operated Monticello since 1923; the advisory board of University of Missouri Press; and the boards of National Frontier Trails Museum, Midwest Research Institute, Black Archives of Mid-America, KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) and the University of Missouri-Kansas City.  He is an emeritus member of the Board of Commissioners of Tower Grove Park in St. Louis, a position appointed by The Missouri Supreme Court. 

Kemper has served as chairman, CEO, and executive vice president for UMB Financial Corporation and UMB Bank, n.a. in Kansas City, and president of UMB Bank in St. Louis.  Kemper wrote and edited the book titled Winston Churchill:  Resolution, Defiance, Magnanimity, Good Will.  He received his bachelor's degree in history from Yale University.
